It’s been a very exciting weekend for me. I am now a Certified Gem Affiliate, proudly representing MJ Kinman, Textile Artist. That means I learned how to teach MJ’s gorgeous gem stone patterns from her and can officially teach them in shops and to groups.
Each of the 12 patterns represents a birthstone and was inspired by an actual gem. They are 17″ blocks and can be used individually or together in any combination you like. You can also mix and match the patterns with the fabric colors to individualize your gems even more.
I was with a great group of ladies with varying experiences teaching quilts. Some are already affiliates with other designers and freely shared their experiences and knowledge. We discussed many different topics of the quilt teaching business, sewed our own gem stone block and officially graduated at the end of the 3 day workshop. I am so thrilled to be starting this new venture that combines my love of quilting with helping others make beautiful quilts too.
