This is the first OBW (one block wonder) top that I made. It was a big splashy floral on black. This one has the blocks made of octagons and little 4 pieced squares to fill in the corners.
It was definitely more work than Cat and Mouse made with hexagons. But quite colorful. I quilted it with a large floral design in the middle. The border is a design called Ninja Stars and I added loopy loops in black to fill in around them. The backing is a multi colored tye dye batik.
This is number 10 of 14. Pretty good progress in 3 months. The remaining tops will take me longer though because I want to do more custom quilting on them, plus I’ll be making more gems for class samples.
