Time gets away!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I’ve posted. Understandable though. My mom had some health issues and is now settled in a nursing home. I’ll be visiting regularly, but can get back to a little bit of sewing.

I’m 4 blocks behind on the Moda At the Seashore QAL. I don’t even have a picture to share yet. Next time.

I did finish quilting and put the binding on a quilt that my mom started for her future first great granddaughter. She loves carousels and wanted to share that with the next generation.

I’ve started a quilt to donate to our local FFA group’s annual auction. The blocks are done and I’m getting the rows sewn together. So that’ll be another picture for next time.

Happy quilting!

Garage sale find

I went to a quilters garage sale last weekend. Got a couple lengths of fabric for a one block wonder quilt and a bundle of Star Wars scraps that I couldn’t pass up. They got turned into this and called it Death Stars. Leftover strips were turned into a giant log cabin block for the back. I used all the scraps I bought, so I’m happy with the result.

I decided to make a quick charity quilt top for Project Linus. It’s from one yard cuts of 3 coordinating fabrics. The main one has coyotes.

Living Coral

My entry for this year’s Pantone Challenge is done. It’s a cute design by Linda Hahn of crabs on the beach using quarter circle blocks. I call it “Beach Party” and it measures about 36″ square. It still needs to be quilted, though, so I guess it’s not quite done. Good thing there’s a Top Only category in the challenge.

Back to Sewing

I am sewing again after going to our son’s college graduation in Wyoming last weekend and him and 2 friends coming come a few days early due to a spring snowstorm there.

I quilted this strawberry table runner yesterday. It’s for the Strawberry Jazz Festival on Sunday. I’ll be selling my quilts there with many other great local artists and authors.

Plus I’ve started a Halloween Houses quilt. It’s a free pattern from Free Spirit Fabrics and Coats Threads. I love house quilts so this will be fun.

Strawberries mean Summer!

I love strawberries. There is a Strawberry Jazz Festival near me in June. It promotes local artists and musicians and is a great place to enjoy lots of strawberry items. I’m planning to vend there this year and each vendor is asked to have something strawberry related. Here’s my item – a cute table runner.

And I’d like to share this cute pic of Potato keeping me company in the bathroom. Such a silly boy!
